Without people, pets, plants, a fistful of moments and plenty of pics - it's all just a bit sheddy. How's your white shed coming along?

A Vase By Any Other Name....
My oversized bud vase was beautiful and could be seen easily from the road when I sat it on the front lawn. I loved the old liquor bottle...it's size, shine and visibility. Apparently, so did others, but I refused to sell it until yesterday. One lady was quite insistent and also wanted to buy a school desk...so I buckled and sold it....now I have to put my bud in an old drink cooler that doesn't garner near the visibility. The lesson was learned though...If you're going to open a store, you have to sell things. From here on in, I will not get attached, no matter how much I like something. Maybe if the drink cooler was painted....hot pink?

A Little Shed with a lot of Heart!

Day Two....How do you do?
The little shed is drawing folk from far and wide....pretty girl in the This White Shed sundress - DOESN'T SHE LOOK FABULOUS?? - is from Quinte West, and the four friendly faces full of lemon loaf are from Ottawa, Lynn and her stepson Zach in the red dress are from Belleville and my brother, Jeff with Nigel the dog, from Japan - now settled in Belleville. Hmmm, is it the shed ...or the lemon loaf? Matters not...fun day!

Shedding an Old Image
Just weeks ago, our little white shed was like Pigpen in the Charlie Brown comics. Always there, worse for wear, and no real purpose. Tomorrow, this white shed will take on a new role as our tiny store front for our new business. Much of what we have will be set around our yard, but the shed will house candles, clothing, lavender products and Katy O'Mally Greer's artwork. Such a noble shed.

Li'l Lavender with your Lemon Loaf?
This morning, I stopped at the local lavender farm, near Brighton, to pick up some flats for planting, as well as some Sleepy Pillow spray, soap, sachets and all things lavender for this weekend's opening of This White Shed. Great way to start the day...aromatherapy while I shopped. I also tucked away some culinary lavender for my lemon loaf baking tomorrow. Samplings aplenty on Saturday and Sunday!

If she could see....
...the oversized vase with a flower, she'd say, 'Put a leaf in it', then go back to reading the paper. Not terribly creative visually, but if a room could be dressed with words, she'd have been the Dali of home decor. The picture of her holding me was sent by my brother. It was new to me. I was new to her. She'd like the white shed...for sitting and reading.

A Daisy a Day
Lady in Red
You know, you can only paint floors and furniture so long, before your inner dress up dolly comes to the surface. Soooooooooo, we decided to add a little sumpin' to this white shed - dresses, sarongs, summer jewellery...what could be nicer on a warm summer's day than shopping for painted goodies and sunny fun things whilst sipping lemonade and nibbling on lavender lemon loaf (complimentary, of course)! The long weekend in May seems like a fine time to throw open the doors of This White Shed, and see who comes to explore!!! Sundress $30, necklace $25, and bitty beaded purse $25 - oooooo la la!

Splash of Yellow on a Rainy Day....
The first paint can to be freed from winter slumber was YELLOW, and this was my first furniture project. When I found the dark brown occasional table, it actually had a leather top and adapted beautifully to it's fresh jacket of paint. After some strategic sanding and tightening of screws, this lovely little side table is ready to 'be sided'....$40!
