Peekaschoolhouse

Sometimes when I drive up to our house, it seems to be hiding behind the oversized blue spruce. Now I know spruce trees grow large, and ours is quite sizeable, but the house looks as if it's hiding behind the tree's skirt. I think it's because it's ashamed of having two front doors, so by hanging back, the second door isn't as noticeable. *Note: When houses and trees take on personalities it's time have one own's checked for holes....oh, and outdoor insulator festooned chandelier, $60....ooo la la.

No Place Like Home

If a person was a storm follower, they may well think that Prince Edward County was posed for one...but no...it's just our bleakest month of the year. All is grey. All is still.
Oh, except inside where life burbles forth in the form of three small kidlets, paint pots and cartoons...but outside....not a peep.

ta ra ra boom di ay....

There are no words to express how overexpressed Valentine's Day is....so in lieu of such, a quick nod to my nearest and dearest, and a big ol' belly laugh at the fallen cupid.

On Frozen Pond

When it's too grey a day to put one foot in front of the other, skating makes good sense. Watching skating makes better sense.

A Long Soak in a French Tub

There is a woman in France, named Cory, with a blog called 'Tongue in Cheek'...this is her picture. She is describing a day she has to herself. In my world, there would be a bulky flannel nighty involved and you can bet the floor wouldn't be that clean, but in my mind, I like to think of spare days Cory Amaro style.

Egg-onomics!

There is much to be learned from the many colours available in chicken eggs. If you get them when still warm, the colour can be wiped off - but once they harden, too late. The brown ones actually form from blood pigment - ewwww, but the pretty blue ones, they're a different breed altogether - the Aracauna chicken. Ah yes, much to be learned about harvesting chicken eggs - nature's perfect food - and when the yolk's blown out - windchimes!
This spring we're looking forward to a few different types of chickens. Chicken shopping! Nothing better.
