Brrrrrrrr-ing on Spring!

In Southern Ontario, our winter M.O. is NOT what we're sitting in. Frickin', frozen, blood-brittling, windchilling sub-zero insanity!!! We don't know how to cope with such silliness, so we sit behind our curtains, weeping and waiting for Spring to erupt. Until then....Save a Satellite, Hug a TV!

Barn for the Ages

Who knows how long it's been there, but it's surely been since long before a highway roared past. There the barn sits, in its quiet snowy slumber - housing, protecting, and warming whatever's inside...even if by now it's just a snowblower.

WIIIIIIILD...turkeys

Cemetaries are getting creepier and more and more gothic with each passing year - as we turn more to memorial services and such - but don't tell the turkeys!!! Maybe they were hired for ambience, or they mistook the headstones for more birds....whatever the reason, there they were - big as life.

Ontario Winter

It's as if everything just comes to a halt, and the snow lands, and all is frozen in time. Corn was just ready for picking, truck just pulled up to barn....kind of like a Stephen King novel but the 'Fog' or the 'Swarm' or the 'Cujo' is snow. Just snow. And on we go.

When Quiet Comes...

...it can come in the shape of rather corpulent wiener dog, and at our house, it often does. He's stubborn, smart, slow to run and doesn't bend easily, but when a heart needs holding, Casey the legless wiener dog holds on tight with all four wrists.

Happy New Rear!

With all the promise of a new year, do we continue to strive for intangible resolutions, or simply wallow where we are? Having made some changes already over the past few months, there's not much to resolve. Smoking was quit years ago, and weight....oh wait....weight. Twenty, thirty, forty? OK, I vow to gain ten pounds - and I'll do it fast - that'll be easy to keep!!!
